HOW LESSONS WORK

Lessons are usually on a weekly basis, and at a regular time. There is the option of doing 45 minute or 60 minute lessons, and I will usually recommend 60 minute lessons when students are in secondary school.

Depending on the student, an hour may also be preferred for primary school students who like to take on more syllabi or challenging material. We can discuss what suits best when you get in touch.

Each student who takes coaching with &yes Perform gets an online file, accessible by parents and students, in which we gather the pieces we’re working on, the analysis of our pieces based on the acting techniques we are using, what skills we’re working towards, and some feedback from time to time. That way, as a parent as well as a student, you are always able to see where we’re at and what needs more attention.

COMBINATION ONLINE/IN PERSON
For just over a year, we have moved to a fully hybrid way of coaching. Our sessions now mainly take place online, and a few times a term we organise an in person session.

ONLINE

We have found that for LAMDA, interview preparation and audition coaching, online sessions work really well. We can say with confidence that the coaching online is of the same quality, equally fun and engaging as in person lessons.

There are many tried and tested drama games and exercises that we have come up with, specifically for online coaching, and they are always a success.

LAMDA offers online exams as well, which opens up opportunities for students all around the world, who wouldn’t perhaps have had access to these classes.

The only thing you need for online coaching is a stable internet connection, a quiet room in which the student is free from distractions and a laptop or tablet with a working camera and microphone.

IN PERSON

The in person coachings are held at the student’s house roughly once every half term.

We just need a room that is free from distractions, with ideally a table and two chairs or a sofa.

Combining the online sessions with in person sessions every so often enables us to reap the benefits from both ways of teaching.
